To donate, visit http://simplelog.net/donate Congrats, you've installed SimpleLog. Now it's time to do a few little things and you're on your way to having a fully-functional weblog. Create your user accountBrowse to your site and you should see an example post. You should log into the admin section for the first time to change the default username/password (otherwise, anyone can log in if they know the temp account's settings!). Browse to yoursite.com/admin and log in using: Email: temp@email.com
Password: !@gonow
Enter the Authors section and create a new author account for yourself. Then, when you're done, destroy the temporary user. This will force you to log back in--use the new account you created for yourself. Set an important preferenceEnter the preferences section and set the domain preference. This should be the URL of your site, without http://. For example, if you are running SimpleLog in the root of a normal domain, this would be: mydomain.com
This also works with subdomain installs: blog.mydomain.com
And subdirectories in either normal or subdomains: mydomain.com/blog
It's very important to set your domain preference to the correct value. If you improperly set this or something goes wrong, simply log into the database and change the value in the preferences table. Import data from other systems (optional)You can easily import your data from Movable Type 3+, TextPattern and/or WordPress. See importing data for more information and instructions.
